coming to (2009)
(samples of track only)
Coming To was originally composed to accompany a friend's bout of Labyrinthitis. Something to distract the mind while he was laid up, unable to stand for the disorientation. It is a soundtrack of bizarre random sounds that might be heard during that state where real sounds merge with imaginary ones from our partial slumber. Covering most of the sonic range, it explores explosions of erratic key-stabs and deep gut-reverberating notes of a five meter grand piano through female orgasms and striking matches, to the quietest levitating oscillating flutters and chirping of midnight crickets. As a single 80-minute on-the-fly recording, using multilayered sounds, fed through repetitive cycles, it may even cure your insomnia. But watch out, it can also rouse you.
